Healthy hair starts with understanding what your hair actually needs. Everyone’s texture and goals are different, which means the products that work best should feel personal and intentional. If you are building or refreshing your routine, these launches and updates are worth knowing. They were created to support strength, scalp balance, and everyday protection, so your hair can look and feel its best.

Mielle’s Enriched Rosemary Mint Collection

Mielle’s Rosemary Mint collection has been a favorite for years, and the brand has now enriched the entire line with updated formulas, clearer usage guidance, and new botanical ingredients. The goal is to strengthen textured hair from root to tip while supporting a healthier scalp.

Breakage remains one of the most common concerns for people with textured hair. Kierston Jackson, Senior Hair Scientist at Mielle, explains:

We have seen that 49 percent of Black women are reporting breakage as a top concern, and we are also seeing a lot of conversation around scalp care.

Jackson also notes that “over 80 percent of women now understand that scalp care goes hand in hand with breakage and strength.” These insights guided the decision to enrich the collection and expand its benefits.

The updated lineup includes the following products:

  •  Strengthening Shampoo
  •  Strengthening Conditioner
  • Clarifying Sugar Scalp Scrub
  •  Strengthening Hair Masque
  •  Scalp and Hair Strengthening Oil
  •  Light Scalp and Hair Strengthening Oil
  • Pomade to Oil Scalp and Hair Quencher
  • Styling Gel
  • Edge Gel

Several formulas now feature pure rosemary extract, which supports scalp comfort and helps remove excess oil. The ingredient also offers antioxidant benefits that can help reduce inflammation over time. The brand also kept both the original strengthening oil and the lighter version. This gives people with finer strands or lower densities an option that feels more comfortable on the hair and scalp.

Mielle partnered with the Royal Botanical Gardens in London to validate the purity and sourcing of its rosemary and mint oils. Jackson shared that the team is prioritizing botanical research and ingredient transparency as part of its approach to strengthening textured hair. The complete regimen now delivers up to 12X stronger strands when used as directed, offering a measurable boost in strength for people looking to reduce breakage. If stronger strands are part of your hair goals, this enriched collection may be worth a closer look.

Bask and Lather Scalp Therapy System

Bask and Lather began with a personal story. Founder Shaina Rainford watched her younger sister struggle with hair loss, and the experience shaped her understanding of how deeply hair health can affect a person’s confidence.

Watching my younger sister struggle with hair loss affected our entire family. As her confidence declined, I realized just how closely hair health is tied to emotional well-being and self-esteem, especially within the Black community.

As a nurse practitioner, she approached the issue with clinical curiosity and wanted products that addressed the underlying causes of dryness, irritation, thinning, and buildup rather than offering temporary fixes.

The Scalp Therapy System is a four-step routine that makes scalp care simple and consistent. It includes the following products:

  • Scalp Soothing Pre-Shampoo
  • Scalp Balancing Shampoo
  • Scalp Restoring Conditioner
  • Scalp Moisturizing Leave-In Treatment

Each step features aloe vera and mint to soothe, cleanse, hydrate, and support long-term scalp balance.

Shaina explains that many people focus on hair growth without caring for the scalp. She believes that education is essential, especially because dryness, buildup, inflammation, and early thinning can look similar but require different approaches. The brand’s mission is to empower people with knowledge and science-backed care so they can build routines that support long-term results rather than short-term fixes.

Wrappd Beauty Shower Bonnet

If you have ever tried to preserve a wash n go or keep a silk press from reverting, you know how quickly a shower cap can work against you. For years, the natural hair community has relied on layered solutions in the shower. Tasha Turner lived that reality, even as a beauty editor with access to countless products. “I remember layering a scarf, a bonnet, and then a shower cap just to protect my hair in the shower,” she says.

Wrappd Beauty was created to solve those everyday frustrations. Tasha realized that the natural hair community was still relying on workarounds, even after decades of beauty innovation.

Protecting your hair shouldn’t require a workaround. It should be thoughtfully designed into the products we use every day.

The Shower Bonnet is designed as a three-in-one protection system. It features waterproof material inspired by rain jackets, a silicone perimeter that keeps edges secure, and adjustable ties that mimic the comfort of a scarf. The design accommodates bobs, top knots, wigs, extensions, braids, and other protective styles.

Customers have embraced the bonnet in creative ways, and some wear it after the shower because it dries quickly. Tasha recalls testing it during a rainstorm and discovering that her hair was completely dry when she got home.

Wrappd Beauty offers two versions of The Shower Bonnet. Tasha explains that “The goal with both is the same: to keep your hair covered, secure, and protected without asking you to compromise your style.” The Original fits short to medium-length hair. The Ultra offers more room for fuller styles, wigs, extensions, and braids.

KIN Apparel Satin-Lined Hoodie

KIN Apparel began with a moment of vulnerability. During her first year at Princeton, founder Philomina Kane experienced hair loss caused by stress and improper care. As her hair grew back, she struggled to find a hoodie that fit her head and protected her hair. Traditional hoods were too small, and cotton fabrics created friction and absorbed moisture. “As my hair grew back, I could not find a hoodie or hat that could fit my big head, let alone protect my hair,” she says.

Philomina documented her natural-hair journey on YouTube as NaturallyPhilo and built a community of nearly 200,000 subscribers. She called them her KINfolk. KIN stands for Keep It Naturally, and the brand grew directly from that community. “Before KIN became a brand, it was a community,” she explains.

I wanted to create premium, inclusive products that allowed people to care for their hair without compromising comfort or style.

The satin-lined hoodie remains the brand’s signature product. It protects curls and coils, supports comfort, and offers privacy during travel or rest. Customers navigating hair loss from cancer, alopecia, and other conditions have shared how gentle the satin feels on sensitive scalps. Some people with migraines appreciate the oversized hood because it covers more of the head without feeling tight.

KIN has also expanded into satin‑lined sets, jumpsuits, hats, travel pieces, and accessories.

Where Hair Wellness Is Heading

These four brands are doing things differently. Strength is becoming more science-driven, scalp care is moving to the forefront, and protection is being redesigned for real life and well-deserved comfort. Black founders and brands will continue shaping what comes next.
