Actor, producer, and host Nick Cannon loses his youngest child to brain cancer. The comedian announced the sad news on “The Nick Cannon Show” earlier today. His youngest child, Zen, was diagnosed with Hydrocephalus, a condition characterized by a buildup of fluid in the brain cavities. In addition, the infant was battling brain cancer as well.
Nick Cannon stated that the mother of his child, Alyssa, noticed their son’s irregular breathing and an enlarged head; therefore, she decided to take Zen in for a routine checkup. A malignant tumor was discovered, and Zen underwent surgery and a shunt procedure to drain the fluid. Unfortunately, his son’s tumor continued to grow, and by Thanksgiving, his condition worsened.
“This weekend, I made an effort to spend the most quality time with Zen,” the “Drumline” actor shared. He held his son and made sure to wait before flying back to NY for work. Cannon couldn’t reach the airport but instead spent that time with Alyssa and Zen on the beach. “I didn’t know how I was gonna handle today, but I just really wanted to grieve with my family,” he added.
