Iconic Atlanta News Anchor Jovita Moore Passes Away from Brain Cancer 

Iconic Atlanta news anchor Jovita Moore passed away last night. This heartbreaking news comes just seven months after she was diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer. In April, doctors discovered two masses on Moore’s brain after she started experiencing forgetfulness and disorientation. After surgery, they diagnosed her with glioblastoma. Glioblastoma is the most common type of brain cancer and there is no cure, only treatments that can slow down its progression.

Jovita Moore served Atlanta for 23 years. She first joined Channel Action 2 News in 1998 and brought us so many impactful stories. She started off on the air with WMC-TV in Memphis and KFSM in Arkansas. She later joined the WSB-TV family in ’98 and transitioned to the main anchor desk in 2012. Moore went on to win several Emmy’s with WSB-TV.
