Zen Zone: Yoga Room at the Airport

Chicago airport helps passengers relax

Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport has opened a yoga room on the mezzanine level of the Terminal 3 rotunda. The yoga room, open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., is an “oasis for passengers,” says aviation commissioner Rosemarie Andolino.
The 15-foot by 16-foot room features sustainable bamboo wood flooring, a wall of floor-to-ceiling mirrors and exercise mats. A video monitor plays yoga techniques or nature images, and for added relaxation, visitors can hear soothing sounds.
Plans for a yoga room at the city’s Midway International Airport are underway.
