ACA Works

More Young People Have Health Insurance

In case you are still on the fence about whether or not the Affordable Care Act (ACA) is helping, consider this: A Gallup poll released earlier this week found the number of uninsured Americans aged 18 to 25 dropped to 22.7 percent in the last four months of 2012. That’s down from 24.5 percent in the first quarter of 2012, and is the lowest since January 2008, when Gallup first started tracking coverage rates.

Young adults are reaping the benefits of the provision in the ACA that allows children to stay on their parents’ health insurance plans until age 26.
