Women know it’s almost time to break out the spring beauty rituals: getting their feet ready for sandals, choosing the perfect nail color to rock with their warm-weather frocks and trading in their heavy winter moisturizer for a lighter version.
But what about you, guys? It’s the season to revitalize your routine, too, and we make it easy with these six steps:
Shave the face ’fro. Use a shaving gel or oil, but avoid products with menthol if you have sensitive skin.
Don’t dry shave. This can irritate gentle facial skin.
Start a twice-daily cleanse. No, not the one that involves drinking water with lemon and cayenne pepper. We’re talking about for your face. Choose a face gel/wash for oily or combination skin and a cream cleanser if your skin is dry. Do it once in the morning, and then again in the evening before bed.
Soften chapped lips by applying a lip balm regularly throughout the day. Note: Stick lip balms are easier to apply then ones in little pots.
Ditch dry hands. You can’t rub your lover’s back with scratchy hands! Remove rough, dead skin with an exfoliator (make your own by mixing sugar and olive oil), and then moisturize. For best results, apply the moisturizer to your hands at bed time, tug on a pair of cotton socks and leave on overnight.
Shun sweaty skin. If you notice breakouts on your body after your workout, use a medicated wash to cleanse the skin as soon as possible after each session. Always use a clean towel.
Try new products. Don’t be afraid to expand your horizons beyond the male skincare lines. If you have similar skin troubles as the women in your life, give their products a go to see how they work for you.
