With talk of burnout and OB/GYNS changing specialities or leaving medicine completely, a wellness day for physicians is, well, just what the doctor ordered.
This is the prescription drawn up for the Obstetrics and Gynecology section’s Aug. 1 offerings at this year’s National Medical Association convention, held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It’s a breakout session with a physician: heal thyself so you can better heal your patients focus.
Moderated by the Cleveland Clinic’s Linda Bradley, M.D., the session kicks off at 8:30 a.m. with “Preventing Caregiver Burnout: A Focus on Self-Care and Getting Your Mojo Back,” followed by half-hour sessions on bariatric surgery (“For Who, When, Why and What Are the Benefits”), beauty (“The Billion Dollar Woman: What a Gynecologist Needs to Know About African-American Skin and Haircare”), and breastfeeding (“Breastfeeding Essentials: Best Practice Tips to Advocate and Support Your Patient”).
The session is located in Room 103AB of the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
