Disney World lifts mask requirements for vaccinated visitors. One of the happiest places on Earth decided it was time to make the indoor mask mandates optional for all vaccinated guests. The lift will apply to all Disney-themed parks. According to the Disney website, this option will begin this week. The recent trends and regulatory guidance are why Disney World decided to ease its health and safety protocols.
Disney World Rules
Currently, Disney-themed resorts do not require proof of vaccination from their guests to enter the parks. However, the company released a statement saying, “We expect guests who are not fully vaccinated to continue wearing face coverings in all indoor locations, including indoor attractions and theaters.”
Disney theme parks shut down back at the pandemic’s peak in March 2020, and U.S. Disney World reopened in July. And Disneyland didn’t reopen until July 2021. And since last July, Disney World and Disneyland have required all visitors to wear masks indoors from ages two and up. This rule was a precaution to aid against the deadly Delta variant. After Universal Orlando in Florida lifted its mask requirements for fully vaccinated guests, Disney changed their policy.
Mask Mandates 2022
Recently, several states lifted their mask mandate due to a decrease in hospitalization from COVID-19. Earlier this week, CA lifted their indoor mask mandates for vaccinated residents, but counties and businesses can enforce stricter rules.
